The West, in its Watery Palace, speaks of compassion and sacrifice: elements of Divine Love that all Sacred Circle Keepers must desire to embody. Source asks you to take off the yoke of the old you, and step strong into a new roll where you shine. Every moment you have the ability to transform, but this is the moment when Mother Nature does that dance with you; She is encouraging you to change. She wants you to evolve, to never stay stagnant. Source asks you to be involved with who you are and not just be a victim of your circumstances! At Autumn Equinox you are asked to take that step forward, let things go, show compassion to yourself and others, create a space in which to be healthy and whole, and give thanks. This time of the year is also about the embodiment of Autumn: the beautiful swansong of life in the physical realm. This Holy crossroad marks the day of equal day and equal night as you head into the darker dormant months ahead. Therefore it represents a time of balance, as you determine what to harvest and what to lay to ground. The body of the Earth Mother transforms into fiery orange, yellow and brown, as She prepares for Her Winter slumber. From an agricultural perspective, this is when our ancestors stored up food in preparation for the coming cold. It is the time of ultimate transmutation.
What You Will Be Doing on this Holy Day:
The first part of this ritual is a creative exercise where you will be making a piece of art that reflects the burdens you will lay down. Then you will be journeying to the Redeemer within to determine where you need to infuse compassion into your life. That is followed by a writing exercise where you will create a preparedness plan for the upcoming winter—setting the container for your upcoming rest. And finally you will CELEBRATE—giving thanks for all of the changes you have made this year and all of the goodness you have received, making a talisman to commemorate the harvest in your life. The end of the Workshop will be dedicated to the Activation of your WEST Stone.
